Dr. Andrew M. Wiesenthal was a managing director with Deloitte Consulting from May of 2010 to December of 2021. From April 2000 until joining Deloitte, he was associate executive director of the Permanente Federation. From 1983 to 2000, Wiesenthal served as a pediatrician and pediatric infectious diseases consultant with the Colorado Permanente Medical Group, where he was also associate medical director and a member of the board of directors. Andy is board certified in both general pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases. He earned a Master of Science in Health Care Management from the Harvard School of Public Health. He has extensive background in health care quality measurement and improvement, having been a founder of Kaiser Permanente’s Care Management Institute and its Garfield Center for Innovation. In addition, he served on NCQA’s board of directors. Dr. Wiesenthal also has a deep background in health information technology—he was responsible for the system-wide implementation of Kaiser Permanente’s electronic health record system from inception through completion. He has also served on a number of health IT boards and committees, including the SNOMED International Management Board, the Federal Health IT Standards Committee, the Certification Commission for Health IT Standards, and others.
