Eve Higginbotham

With over 10 years of tenure as the Vice Dean for Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, Dr. Higginbotham is passionate about advancing health equity and fostering a culture of inclusion, respect, and excellence in academic medicine. She holds both Bachelors and Master Degrees in Science from MIT, a Medical Degree from Harvard Medical School, and a Master in Law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.

In Dr. Higginbotham’s current role, she strategically leads and promotes institutional inclusion, diversity and equity programs and initiatives, oversees the functions of the Office of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity, and interfaces with the Leonard Davis Institute on issues related to health policy. She has seen patients as a glaucoma specialist over my professional career, most recently at the Scheie Eye Institute. Additionally, In the past, she co-founded and directed a consulting firm, served on multiple boards and committees, and published several articles on health equity and strategic planning. Dr. Higginbotham is a nationally recognized leader of academic and volunteer organizations, with a demonstrated record of successfully managing collaborations with industry and local, state, and federal officials for mutual benefits.
