Chemen M. Neal, MD, received her undergraduate degree from San Diego State University and medical degree from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. She completed residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Her interests led her to become passionate about the advancement of physicians as leaders. In 2018, she completed training as a certified executive coach through the Coactive Training Institute (CTI) to further her capabilities as an expert in professional growth. She served as assistant dean for student success and advocacy at the IU School of Medicine and, in early 2023, became the inaugural executive associate dean of equity and inclusion. To improve care for vulnerable Hoosier communities, she plans to positively impact the development of the Indiana physician workforce by developing important partnerships with the school’s companion academic health center and aligning institutional efforts in inclusive excellence.
