The Carol Emmott Fellowship helps exceptional women leaders increase their influence, impact, and national visibility. The Fellowship is uniquely designed to spark change and improve gender equity in health leadership.
The Carol Emmott Fellowship focuses on accelerating the leadership capacity and impact of women leaders in health. The program provides a platform for fellows to promote and leverage their national visibility so they can advance their career trajectories and make an even greater impact on equity in the workplace.
The 14-month fellowship program connects remarkable women with peers, nationally acclaimed mentors, and resources that help create pathways into senior executive leadership within their institutions and the health field.
Fellowship recipients are paired with hand-selected mentors who are nationally recognized senior executive leaders. Each fellow pursues an impact project, which they plan in coordination with their health organization, that promotes sponsorship opportunities and visibility within the organization. Fellows are also afforded opportunities to publish and present their work to the extensive Foundation community.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR CLASS OF 2027 NOMINATIONS
Nominations for the Class of 2027 are open.
- May 31, 2026 — Nomination form and letter of recommendation due from the sponsoring organization
- June 30, 2026 — Completed application form due from nominee
- July/August 2026 — Phone interviews with candidates
- October 2026 — Class of 2027 fellows selected; sponsoring organizations and fellows notified
- January 1, 2027 — Fellowship program year begins
NOMINATING AND APPLYING
Fellowship candidates must first be nominated by leadership at their own institution or by an organization within their health community interested in sponsoring them. Each sponsoring organization may nominate up to three candidates for consideration. Nominations from all health sectors are welcome.
