The Carol Emmott Fellowship helps exceptional women leaders increase their influence, impact, and national visibility. The Fellowship is uniquely designed to spark change and improve gender equity in health leadership.

STEP ONE: NOMINATION BY THE SPONSORING ORGANIZATION (DUE JUNE 1, 2023)

The nomination period for the Class of 2024 is open. All nomination information must be emailed to Felisa Schneider, chief operating officer, by June 1, 2023 for the 2024 program year. For organizations unable to sponsor a fellow, review our Foundation-Sponsored Fellowship Fund page to see if your organization is eligible to apply for a Fellow position that is fully funded by The Carol Emmott Foundation. Contact felisa@carolemmottfoundation.org for questions or more details on how to sponsor a woman leader in your organization.

To nominate a candidate, the sponsoring organization must submit the following two items:

  • The nomination form (download the nomination form here)
  • A one-page letter of recommendation from the organization champion* which includes the candidate’s track record of successful leadership and why she would be ideal for the Fellowship program

* The organization champion is often — but not necessarily — the nominator. The organization champion should have senior executive authority within the fellow’s organization and act as a liaison with other areas of the institution. She/he serves as a link to the strategic direction of the organization. The organization champion will help provide access to organization resources and work with the fellow during the program year.

Nominations for the Fellowship must be submitted by the sponsoring organization, not the candidate.

Sponsoring organizations may nominate up to three candidates for consideration for the Fellowship program. Each candidate must meet all of the nomination criteria and eligibility requirements.

A candidate’s interest in participating in the program must be confirmed by the sponsoring organization before submitting any information to the Fellowship.

Upon receipt of all nomination materials, we will contact each qualified candidate with instructions on how to complete the application.

Successful applicants and their sponsoring organizations will be notified in October 2023. The program begins on Jan. 1, 2024.
