Fellow Scholarship Fund
Because equity, inclusion, and diversity are core values of The Carol Emmott Foundation, we have created a Fellow Scholarship fund to provide opportunities for women leaders from healthcare organizations that are unable to cover the cost of participation in the Carol Emmott Fellowship because they are working tirelessly to serve historically marginalized populations nationwide.
The purpose of the Fellow Scholarship fund is to:
1. Increase diversity and advance gender equity in leadership.
2. Create opportunities for women serving in financially strapped institutions with no professional development budget to participate in the Fellowship program.
3. Develop and foster strong internal institutional support for the scholarship recipient.
In order to be eligible to nominate a candidate for one of our Foundation-sponsored positions, an institution must (1) be unable to otherwise cover the cost of the Fellowship, and (2) must have identified an organization champion in the most senior leadership who will support the candidate throughout the 14 month program.
Please note that if an institution obtains funding to subsidize their fellow candidate from outside their organization, they must still demonstrate the same internal commitment to the candidate.
Nominations should be submitted by the applying organization’s leadership.
Donations make this program possible.
We invite you to contribute to the Fellow Scholarship fund today. When making your contribution, indicate your wish to invest by selecting Fellow Scholarship fund from the dropdown under the “contribute to” section.
There are up to five Foundation-sponsored positions available in each Fellowship cohort. The Carol Emmott Foundation covers the $50,000 cost per candidate, which includes the program fee and travel costs, from the generous donations given to the Fellow Scholarship fund.
If you are interested in nominating a candidate for a Foundation-sponsored position, contact info@carolemmottfoundation.org for more information and a nomination form.
“It is my goal to invest in women, specifically women of color who might otherwise lack access to those opportunities. I do this in memory of my mother, Virginia Dodd, who lived her life in support of equity and equality for all..”
