Karen Butterworth-Erban, MSN, RN, CNL, FACHE, currently serving as the Vice President Regional Ambulatory Operations, joined Yale New Haven Health in 2019 providing oversight to ambulatory operations and growth for the East Region of YNHHS. She provides strategic and operational oversight for ambulatory growth and performance across the East Region of YNHHS. With a professional foundation rooted in emergency services, behavioral health, and healthcare operations, she has expanded her leadership portfolio to encompass diagnostic imaging, emergency management, EMS, and public safety, strengthening integration and system alignment.

A recipient of the Connecticut Hospital Association’s Healthcare Hero Award in 2015, Butterworth-Erban holds a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Connecticut and a master’s in organizational leadership from Quinnipiac University.
